About Feline friendly veterinary medicine society- FFVMS
FFVMS is a passion project founded by UCD Vet students Sarah Kuchma (RVT) and Melissa McKague in 2024. Both worked together in a feline-only veterinary hospital prior to pursuing their veterinary journey at UCD in 2023. Together they have made their passion for feline advocacy into a sub-society of UCD Vet Soc. FFVMS welcomes all cat, dog, and animal lovers to enjoy the perks of our society, student and faculty alike!
The aim of FFVMS is to bring awareness to feline friendly medicine not only as a branch of small animal medicine, but as something that can be applied in mixed animal practice as well. Our goal is to advocate compassion for cats, especially in a veterinary setting, and offer students and faculty learning opportunities in gold standard feline medicine.
We have connections with International Cat Care (iCatCare), Irish Association of Feline Medicine (IAFM) and FelineVMA. As UCD is a globally recognized university with a strong international student body and faculty, we also strive to expand our global network and collaborations where possible.
